HSBC appoints international wealth and premier banking head for Taiwan
Kevin Hu joins bank after IWPB business achieves record performance in first half

HSBC has appointed Kevin Hu as head of international wealth and premier banking ( IWPB ), Taiwan, effective November 3. He will lead the execution of IWPB’s business strategy to establish HSBC as the leading international wealth manager in Taiwan.

Hu joins HSBC from Cathay United Bank, where he has served as senior executive vice president since 2022. Prior to this, he spent 26 years at Citibank Taiwan, most recently as retail banking head covering wealth management, insurance, and mortgage products.

Welcoming Hu, Kai Zhang, head of IWPB, Asia, says: “Taiwan’s IWPB business achieved record performance in the first half of 2025, and Taiwan plays an important role in achieving our goal to become the world’s leading international wealth manager, particularly in Asia and the Middle East.
